The UW-GK will be working with Youth after School and help with activities including reading, and crafts.


April 2017 will be our next NEEDS volunteer day. Details to follow once determined through the NEEDS organization.

Newcomers Employment and Education Development (N.E.E.D.S.) Inc

N.E.E.D.S. is an organization that provides accessible services and support to immigrant and refugee children, youth, and their families. Their goal is to enhance their integration into Canadian society by providing youth with employment, education, and social recreation programs supported by psycho-social educators.

The University of Winnipeg Golden Key Chapter will be volunteering in the After School Homework Program at N.E.E.D.S. starting January 2015.  It runs Monday to Friday from 4- 6 pm. N.E.E.D.S. is in walking distance from The University of Winnipeg which makes it an accessible volunteer opportunity for students.  The address is 251-A Notre Dame Avenue, across from the Burton Cummings Theater.
