New Member Recognition Event
Each Golden Key chapter is tasked with hosting an event to induct new members. At these ceremonies, new members join their peers and are recognized for their achievements and are given a certificate of membership. The New Member Recognition Event (NMRE) allows attendees to network and meet student chapter leaders, other members, university administration and faculty and honorary members, as well as learn more about scholarships, member benefits and community service projects.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the New Member Recognition Event for the 2016/2017 school year!
Each year the New Member Recognition Event takes place in the Fall of the current academic year. This event consists of recognizing new members who have made the decision to join Golden Key and unlock their potential with a world of opportunities through Leadership, Service, and Academics. We officially usher in a new student Executive Committee, welcome guest speakers, and induct our Honourary members.
In addition, we recognize the community service we do. Over the past few years we have partnered in initiatives with Canadian Blood Services, Siloam Mission, and the Newcomers Employment and Education Services center. We have also worked with the Human Rights Museum, Relay for Life, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg.
Each year we strive to fulfill our Spark-a-Change initiative. This initiative helps inspire and help those in need. Those needs can vary and can be related to community demands. We have collected hats and mitts for kids, books for classrooms, and non-perishable goods for food banks.
